| Why we like being MBE franchisees
 |

“I particularly like working
for myself but with the back-up and support that comes from being
part of a bigger organisation,” says Colchester franchisee
Steve Sleigh. “I also appreciate being able to talk to other
franchisees – I know from my own past experience that setting
up your own business means lots of hard work and a lot of headaches
– with no-one to share it with.
You can feel isolated when you’re your own boss but with MBE,
there’s always someone who can help and advise. MBE matched
exactly what I’d been looking for.” Steve Sleigh MBE Colchester |

Sian had her own successful IT consultancy when she first thought about buying a franchise. Although she enjoyed many aspect of the work, she was fed up with the weekly commute from her home in Shrewsbury down to London. She wanted something more challenging but had reservations about starting anything entirely from scratch.
She says: “I chose franchising because I wanted a better quality of life. I didn’t want to keep on slogging up and down motorways all my life. I like the structure of MBE, which is vital to any new business. It is very reassuring to know that if you have a query or a problem, especially in the early days, there is always someone within the franchise who can help."

“We wanted a business where
we could work together, pooling our talents and resources, but we
weren’t sure exactly what,” say Bath franchisees, Jerry
and Carol Walsingham. Although something in the pub or catering
trade seemed the obvious choice, Carol really did not fancy the
round-the-clock lifestyle that the licensed trade offers. She was
delighted when Jerry suggested franchising and they chose MBE.
It was the right decision – they work well together as a team,
each with separate areas of responsibility, and neither has regrets
about leaving the brewing and secretarial services sectors where
they had jobs before.
Jerry says: “I believe we have an excellent future, not least
because MBE’s range of services is uniquely placed to capitalise
on the changes in the way modern business operates.”

Inan Ors, a London franchisee, is
someone who believes in the adage, “never take no for an answer”.
As a 19-year-old wanting his own business, his chances of securing
the necessary funding for an MBE Centre in London’s West End
were remote. However, his dynamism and enthusiasm sufficiently impressed
area franchisee Simon Cowie and, equally importantly, the Bank of
Scotland, to get what he wanted. Inan says: “I was keen to
move forward and although I had limited financial resources, Simon
was very supportive. It is a very exciting time for me and I am
relishing every minute of it.” Inan Ors MBE Soho |
